Cheddar Cheese Loaf


This is a really delicious loaf cake.
With cheddar being the main ingredient, It added a slight salty taste to a normal sweet loaf.
If U don’t have a sweet tooth ... this is the type of cake U will enjoy eating.
I have been baking this cake pretty often… it’s really fast & easy.

Cheddar Cheese Loaf
(Adapted from Alex Goh’s Creative Making of Cakes)

What U need:

  • 250g Butter
  • 230g Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1tsp Vanilla essence
  • 100g Cheddar - shredded
  • 100ml Milk
  • 280g Flour
  • 1tsp Baking powder

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 160C.
  2. Cream both butter & sugar until light & fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and cream till smooth & light.
  4. Add vanilla essence.
  5. Add shredded cheddar and mix till well combined.
  6. Add milk and mix well.
  7. Add shifted flour & baking powder and mix well.
  8. Bake in 160C oven for 60mins.

Note:

  1. I have changed the oven temp. from 180C to 160C...I prefer baking my cakes in a low heat oven.
  2. I recommend that U sprinkle shredded cheese on top before baking….this will create a crusty top.
  3. Also added vanilla essence to the recipe to give it more fragrance.
