Blog Household Tip

Dos & Don’t -

When thawing frozen food:

  • Do let frozen meat thaw out slowly in a fridge or cool place. Once it starts to defrost, the dormant bacteria within the meat will become active and multiply and if they are in a warm place, they will multiply faster.
  • Unless it has been cooked completely, never refreeze uncooked food after it has been thawed and never refreeze cooked foods that have been thawed once already.
  • The rule for fresh foods - Freeze, Thaw and Cook.
  • The rule for cooked food - Freeze, Thaw & reheat thoroughly.
